"Oh I don't know. But it must be something creative, mustn't it. To show them that you're serious and mean business." A tone that would sound haughty on an older witch still comes across as precocious in a willful sort of way in a girl of her relatively few years. Though she already has the expression - head raised and chin slightly tilted, eyes half-lidded the better to look down past her nose - down flat. "I shall have to think about it."

Draco is allowed to wonder if he seemed nearly this ridiculous when he was small, if he likes.

Like him she paid no mind to any looks they were getting as they weaved through the crowd. She simply had no mind for them. She was too caught on other things. With some maneuver she had managed to tuck the parchment inside of her book, the small charcoal she was using to write behind her ear, and she held the book flat and close in front of her with the crook of her arm as they walked.

"How is Mother? How is Father? They are both waiting at home for us, aren't they? Have you gotten all of my letters? Father assured me he had received every last one but I've never had my own owl before and I think you might have missed a few in replying, so I wasn't sure...oh, did you hear about what they're saying will happen at the next Quidditch Cup, can you believe it? My friend Emmery says it must be a laugh, but I'm not so sure, it was in the Prophet and everything. Though I know Mother and Father both say I mustn't always listen to the Prophet, it's half rubbish. I kept that article about Hermione's promotion though, it's clipped and I put it on some posterboard in my dormitory, I thought it was rather good and she looked very well in the picture. Even my dorm-mate Violette said so and she's French, so you know she's very fussy about that sort of thing. Oh, I've nearly forgotten, Professor Longbottom told me to pass along a hello and some holiday wishes to my family - quite polite of him, I think. And Professor Hagrid, he said the same thing too."

It was around this point that she finally stopped to catch her breath, looking slightly flushed from her exertion.
