She pulled another face and shook her head a bit at his tease about her talking. She felt like mentioning if he thought she talked too much, he should come to Hogwarts and listen to Emmery Everglott going on at Slytherin table at breakfast sometimes. Now that would show him, surely. (The truth was both Lyra and Emmery were motor-mouths, and being trapped in a conversation between the two of them was, depending on one's mood, either endless source of amusement or a very special form of torture.)

"All sorts of terrible, I'm sure." She fondly remembered her godmother and her brother arguing over who was going to get to teach her to fly - they both ended up doing it, sometimes giving contradictory advice, much to Lyra's entertainment. "I'm sure he only seems to be growing so fast for you because you're watching closer, that's all."

She possibly wasn't wrong. Their mother and father had hung on her every moment in the way an older sibling simply wouldn't; of course it was different for Draco with Scorpius, since that was his actual child. First born son, at that.

"I'm sure Mother and Father are very pleased." She had been old enough to see and take in how they reacted for Scorpius' first few years, the way literally almost everything he did brought outbursts of endearment and approval.

And she had a memory of the time when she'd first gotten her broom successfully up into the air all on her own - the two of them watching from a heavily shadowed corner of the gardens, Father with a small smile on his face, eyes half-lidded as if he were tired, as Mother reached over to gently rub his arm.
