The idea of going back to Hogwarts was a strange one; even if she had invited him, he might have balked slightly. Not just at the idea of listening to Emmery talk either, a thing that he would eventually learn the true extent of, but at the idea of going back to the school at all. He hadn't thought of it much, though the implications had certainly softened over the years.
But truly, the worse torture was having to listen to Lyra and her friend babble on for hours.
"That's hardly the point," he protested mildly. "The point is that he's growing far too quickly, and one of these days, he'll be at Hogwarts with you." That, presented with a look that suggested dear Auntie Lyra had best take care of Scorpius. And she certainly wasn't wrong; there was no way an older sibling would notice her growth the way he did his own child. No slight against Lyra, of course.
He puffed up slightly. "Of course. Why shouldn't they be? He's practically a shoe-in for the Quidditch team in a few years. He could even go pro, if he wanted to, I'm sure."
Scorpius was, of course, still considered a toddler by most standards. But that didn't stop his very proud papa from planning his life.
